I took my first massage class during the summer of 2012 because I had gone off to college and couldn't find a massage therapist that my horse Covergirl had approved of. I had planned to just support my own horses' health, until life threw me a curveball. In 2013, both of my horses- and a horse I had leased for 6 years and called part of my family, all passed away unexpectedly within 6 months of each other- not only was I heartbroken, but I swore off horses forever. The universe had other plans, and my dad finally pushed me to get another horse as he poignantly indicated my mental health was not ideal without these incredible creatures, and I found my girl Frankie. All was well until a week before my graduation from college, I found out that my dad had 14 tumors in his brain. I called Boeing and gave my notice that I was not going to be starting and became my dad's "aide-de-camp" until he passed away. The realization that life is short and can change at any minute pushed me into following my dream of finding a career in the horse world. I became licensed in Equine Massage in 2015, and have been inspired to never stop learning ever since (especially when faced with a major injury of my own horse). I've decided to listen to the universe and instead of my horses continuing to injure themselves to keep me seeking more knowledge, I was going to do it proactively. This year alone, I have taken 15 classes and been incredibly inspired!
