For over 20 years, I have been a student to the horse. I have a deep passion for equine physiology, specifically anatomy and kinesiology. This results in consistently upgrading education to better understand our horse's and how I can maximize their unique biomechanical performance. My goal is to improve your horse's quality of life and performance while creating a safe healing space for the physical and emotional being. I offer services specific to equine lifestyle: bodywork, therapeutic nutrition, and holistic horsemanship ground training with a twist of classical dressage.

Life happens and sometimes all we can do is reschedule or cancel an appointment. While there are definitely some exceptions to the policy, below are the general cancellation guidelines: • Cancellation within 48 hours of scheduled appointment is subject to 50% service charge and possible fuel charge for all out of town clients. •No-Show's are subject to full charge. Just as life throws curve balls with you, I sometimes need to cancel our appointment. If I cancel our appointment, I will offer you two of my earliest openings for the new appointment time. If neither of these times work with schedule, we will choose a date that is compatiable with both of our schedules.
My name is Chantel Paterson [[Tilly]], and I am a lifelong student to the horse. I am a passionate healer with an alternative approach, and I am dedicated to helping horses move through a wide range of physical, emotional, and spiritual transitions in the most efficient and transformative way possible. I love empowering horses and owners to better understand their bodies and discover the gentle power of the healing arts.
Based on the photos and videos supplied by the client, I will be able to do a small assessment from home. Safely, we can discuss where potential unsiundness is coming from, the grade of discomfort, which professional is most important and establish a plan moving forward. This is beneficial for inbetween appointments, acute situations, owner uncertainty and more. Clients in the past have even valued this opportunity as a part of a pre-purchase plan for potential horses.
All photos and videos are available for assessment appointment
Equine bodywork has been a constantly growing industry in the last decade, however has been around for centuries. I have studied several different modalities to create a very unique blend of techniques that are customized to each horse, with every session tailored to the horse's present needs and requirements. My program is based off the principles of craniosacral therapy by applying techniques "into ease" while balancing the horse's emotional and physical barriers through manipulation of the soft tissues and the body as a whole. This work is entirely led by the horse and their unique and individual tolerance both physically and emotionally. My sessions work heavily with the nervous system and often effect the emotional state of the horse as we work through trauma.
Horses must be dry and have a safe shelter for work out of the weather

Proper nutrition is essential for the overall health and performance of horses. Our Equine Nutrition service offers holistic personalized suggested diet plans and nutritional counseling to ensure that your horse receives the optimal balance of nutrients. I take the whole horse into consideration including factors such as age, breed, activity level, physical condition and any specific dietary requirements to promote optimal health and vitality. I have been focused on whole horse nutrition for years and now use plants, minerals, vitamins, homeopathy and flower essence to create a program unique and specific to your horse.
Saddle assessments include a thorough step-by-step assessment of your horse’s back. This is to leave you confident in locating and knowing your horse’s individual load-bearing area. Assessments also include visual representation of this load bearing area using livestock-safe cattle markers. We then discuss some saddle anatomy and how your current saddle relates to the horse’s back without even putting the saddle on yet. We will also cover how to physically assess your saddle on the horse’s back and how to use the feedback given by our palpation. Determined at time of the assessment, if the saddle is safe - we will continue to include pad, rigging and also do a dynamic fit of the saddle with and without a rider. Again, determined at the time of assessment you will also get three custom moulds of your horse’s back to assist in finding another saddle. I do not replace a saddle fitter and do not do any saddle repairs.
I have spent my entire life experimenting with the horse's anatomy to train for strength, endurance and cardio in a way that is benefiting your horse's current physiological condition and in a way we can progress your horse's body condition. These exercises support elasticity, freedom and proprioception through movement. In an effort to bring variety into the horse's life, I utilize several different tools that I have modified to confidently and clearly communicate to the horses mind and body. This ground training isn't just for rehabilitation but also a great addition to add variety into your horse's training schedule. Not only are we offering strength and progression for our horses, but we are also focusing on creating a balanced, safe, communitive and healthy relationship foundation.
