Description

3B Equine Sports Massage believes that every equine, whether it is performing or retired, benefits from hands-on relief therapy. For athletes, the more we ask of them, the greater the need for preventative maintenance. Sports Massage is a non-invasive therapy that increases circulation and range of motion for your equine athlete while also relieving tension and muscle spasms. Curative therapy targets horses with specific and obvious muscle strains, tensions, and spasms. My maintenance program offers total body massage at regular intervals to maintain soundness, fluid movements, efficiency in gait and transitions, and an all-around wellness of the body and mind. Signs your horse may be in need of bodywork: "Pain face" |Hollow back/movement |Difficulty with gait transitions |Cross-firing or difficulty changing leads |Difficulty bending or turning to one direction |Flinching/moving away from back pressure |Uneven development of muscles |"Cinchy" behavior| behavioral issues when being tacked up |Behavioral problems under saddle| These may be sudden or have a gradual onset.

Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist

2842 | IAAMB | Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist

I sought my sports massage education and certification in early 2023 shortly after completing my certification in Equine Veterinary Technology. I work part time for an Equine Vet and through self-reflection and the generous mentoring of Dr. Ross, I felt a strong pull to the holistic side of curative therapy with equines. After searching for a program that was both in-depth and fervently passionate about outcomes rather than price points, I was honored to complete the Equissage program founded and ran by Mary Schreiber. Since completing my certification, I still work part-time for Dr. Ross but have flexibility to work my massage clients in whenever needed. Aside from being an ESMT, I also homeschool my 6 year old son, manage my small farm, and am a devoted wife. My business is not aimed at a singular spectrum of equines, but rather open to any and all that are in need of the mental, physical, and emotional relaxation, balance, and equilibrium that can only be achieved by a gentle hands-on approach. I am happy to have open minded conversations about the benefits massage can provide for your equine partners, as well as combining therapy with chiropractic, veterinary, and farrier care for overall optimum performance and well being.
